The Internet

The Internet

Tell us young 82 man how did you get here?

Once you have a real Virtual Cafe the distance falls away, but sure, I do bicycle to Sussex Drive. Carolyn is right, the 'little sphere' whiffed away. A sphere cannot be destroyed though. It's in the conversation, right here.

Sure Wim, this Virtual Cafe WIM has some of it. That Babylonian Merriment can re-appear with film clips from the Casablanca movie and roles played by Mario Gagne, Iona Greenham and John Goghlan.

Och you remember that? The educated, foreign languages group of men and women floating-in on fixed times.  Ich habe es gehort, manch mal. Je me rapelle tout les grands soir. Heel mooie tijd geweest.

Wait! we don't get a word of it, but the sound of it, yes, it's part of your cafe sphere and the hits on the chess clocks, the rattle of dice in a leather cup. Chess players drumming fingers as on a keyboard.

Yes, that typewriter keyboard still exists. Now connected to the curser and the screen and the computer. My attraction started with a bicycle. The efficiency of it. Bicycle and Internet such efficient carriers.

Look, if I can get to work on a bicycle, I can make it even  more efficient and work from home. Make money on the Internet. You are on the Internet right now, making money following my 82-experience.

You mean, you studied the Internet since your closing on Sussex and  you are telling us that we now made money just by listening to your whole life's experience? Oke, we are listening. Better be good.

From the time of innocent adolescence until your age now, about 40 or 50, I spend per year $5000.- on automobiles, $3900.- on smoke, $900.- on tv. Now, in the second part of your life, you'll save $10.000.-p.year.

Dear fellow Wim, I think we are in agreement, the whole bunch of us to tell you respectfully that you lost it, you are loopy by inferring that we let go of what we all know as deserved normal living.

All depends on how long you want to live. If you want to enjoy this gift of Life in mind and body, do pocket the money, $10.000.- every year. If you spend, you exspend. Your waist expends. Money goes up in blue air.

You make this day and every next day, $27.00 on the internet, because you are on the Internet in this Virtual Cafe WIM. $816.- this month. You buy or invest. Spending is not efficient. Buying a bike is efficient.

Wim, there is something called '"living." We are not interested in        saddle pain and leg cramps. We love certain parts of tv.  We have the odd smoke. We have a grand, shiny car. Love it. You're not helping.

I think that you find my idea of efficiency virtually impossible to do.     Dear Guests, it is based on my feeling very good at 82. If I had used a car, no Cafe WIM, in the way, and really no time for tv.

We will see what you can tell about the internet. Give us time to think. We like the efficiency of living with a bike and a computer hook-up. You did it. Looks possible. May turn out to a good idea.

Look, I really liked all of you guys, the Cafe WIM' honourable Guests and Staff Members. I like to continue looking after your interests. Soon, I'll be 83, September 7. I am into Internet ideas; breaks on the bicycle.

We come back to hear some 82 experience and Internet discoveries.

Hello. I too would love a copy of the book. I spent many a happy afternoon and evening at Wim in my teens. It was a home away from home.
